Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Directed by Chris Will. The story follows the struggling painter, George Seurat in the time leading up to the making of his famous painting, “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.”

This is presented in conjunction with the Bernal Gallery's exhibit "The American Landscape: An Endangered Species - Joseph DiGiorgio's The Grand Canyon." Jan. 30 - March 10. This painting was created in a pointillistic style. From the Tucson Museum of Art. Gift of the artist. 1997.72.
